About the NEW
Scoot On This! LLC
We recognized,
that
after nearly four years of experience in this industry, there
are several ways that we can better serve our customers, while
focusing our talents on products and marketing methods that will
best serve the Members and Managers of the company at the same
time. Change is good.
Among the changes
that have taken place:
-
Products:
We have narrowed our Scooter, Bike, and Conversion Kit lines to fewer,
higher quality/cost ratio items. We are not a
super-store (yet) and we feel too much was being wasted
trying to present too many products to too many people and
budgets. We were also extremely frustrated working
with low end scooters and the angry customers that they
inevitably created. We carry only those product lines
that we feel are the most dependable, well constructed, and
well supported products on the market.
-
Repairs: From
now on Scoot On This! LLC will only work on the scooters
that we sell (or have sold to our own customers in the
past). While repairs were a large portion of our gross
income, it was the least profitable, and most frustrating
side of the business. Exceptions will be made for
persons who require electric assist, such as mobility
scooters or quality two wheeled scooters used as a mobility
aid.
-
Marketing: We
are currently installing our OScommerse site (
http://virtualstore.scootonthis.com/catalog/index.php ).
We hope that it's simplified presentation, while less
informative and artistic than our "freestyle" site, will
provide a better shopping experience for those in a hurry.
At this site, you not only have the option of using Pay Pal,
but may also use your credit or debit cards as well (secured
by our own 128 bit encryption - see the main entry page for
security certificate information:
http://virtualstore.scootonthis.com/)
About Our
Location: Having achieved a stable and successful
company that is growing and requiring the add-on under
construction in the front, many ask us why we remain a cottage
industry.
-
Jon is
disabled and needs to be close to home.
-
Both Jon and
Tim have a ZERO COMMUTE, emitting zero pollutants, using
zero amount of energy, and cutting their commute time to
zero.
-
It's a
convenient, upcoming area. Come on, two blocks off the
I-205 freeway, two blocks from the new Light Rail, and in
the Lent's District - one of Portland's most up and coming
areas (thanks to the Portland Development Commission and the
huge funding by the City to renovate and revitalize the area
for shops, residential and mixed use development; a so
called "model" neighborhood).
-
Keeps our
expenses down by utilizing an affordable, pre-existing space
in a "light industrial" area and a "Multi-Use" zone, so we
can keep our prices competitive. Need we say more?
About Our
Hours: Even more people ask us why our hours are so
funky.
-
Because the
last two hours of the day are generally far less productive
than the rest. A six hour day keeps us productive,
alert, and our members and employees like it. Our
local customers are ok with it. Hey, sometimes it has
to be about us. Only sometimes.
-
Minimizes the
impact of payroll on the company. Paying for staff to
hang out after the work is done, or waiting for new work, is
counter-productive and cost inefficient.
-
Our hours
cover the most active business hours of the day, and for any
local customer, they may still make a private appointment to
accommodate their hours off. Online customers can
email us anytime day or night and (usually) receive a reply
within 24 hours - though availability of a representative is
not guaranteed to respond in that time frame, we do our best
(summer we get pretty busy and may get behind in our inquiry
emails).
We thank you for
your continued support for us, our environment, and our economy.
The Member/Managers of Scoot On This! LLC |
We are a company
founded on light electric vehicles that are bike lane legal. These
include bikes, scooters, and bike conversions. Recently, our focus
has changed to refine our product, market, and scope. We are
dropping many of our old product lines, and focusing on Currie
Technologies and Dart
Electrics
Electric Scooters as our primary lines. We will continue to offer a wide variety of
essential and hard to find accessories, parts, and supplies, and always
service what we sell.
We have succeeded
as an electric scooter and motorized bike shop since 2004 and our
attention to developing the use of practical solutions to transportation
in an age of global warming and ever increasing air pollution. We will not be satisfied with the
"left-over's" from the Asian market that even they won't buy. A
word of caution: when buying on the internet beware! Try to buy
local and be ready to learn the basics of how your electric vehicle
operates. It's simplicity alone should make the use of these
scooters more wide-spread as people come to understand the practicality
and value of going electric.
We provide a lifetime of service and support,
with reasonable product prices. Our lower overhead helps to ensure our survival in an increasingly
competitive market. Our goal is clear and simple, and our
structure is as close to the "hippie" idea of a co-op, as a Member Owned
LLC. The giants, like Wal-Mart or Target, still have HUGE
payrolls, considerable loan repayments on building and land, and
considerable operating expenses - Large does NOT equate with efficiency!
The only way they can offer you savings is by selling lesser quality products,
or in such huge quantities that by the time you get your product it's
been spoiled with age!
We don't.
We are a company that is concerned about our environment, our
economy, and the advancement of inexpensive, non-oil dependent mobility
products. We will not now, nor will we ever sell combustion engine
products of any size or shape. We focus and specialize in electric
powered products, and the changing new methods of generating and storing
the electricity to power them.
Across the street from the end of the 14 Hawthorne line for
convenient access by bus, and two blocks from the new
Metro Line, Foster
Rd. station. DUE FOR COMPLETION SPRING 2009???

Keep you pets INSIDE! Disease
(including Feline AIDS), cars, and fighting is not good for your
pet! Be a concerned pet owner: Love them and keep them
from harm!

This is Bunny Boy, our latest arrival,
born with deformed
front feet and tail, and abnormally large hind feet. Bunny often
sits on his hind legs to relieve the discomfort of his front feet like a
Bunny Rabbit and also tends to "hop" along, again to relieve the weight
on his front feet. While one of the most pitiful we have seen, he
is also one of the most affectionate. How can anyone turn away
such a creature as this? Someone did and now thanks to our help,
Bunny is doing well and seems as happy as can be.
